(Adapted for children based on the story by L. Frank Baum)
In a cozy workshop at the North Pole, Santa Claus was busy making toys for children all over the world. The elves were singing and laughing as they worked, and the reindeer were practicing for their big Christmas Eve flight. But not far away, trouble was brewing.
In a dark and gloomy cave, five evil creatures—the Awgwas—were plotting against Santa. They were jealous of how happy Santa made the children. “If we kidnap Santa Claus,” snarled one Awgwa, “there will be no toys, no laughter, and no joy for Christmas!” The others agreed, rubbing their hands in glee.
The Kidnapping
On Christmas Eve, as Santa climbed into his sleigh filled with gifts, the Awgwas sprang their trap. They surrounded Santa and whisked him away to their dark cave. Santa’s reindeer tried to follow, but the Awgwas used their magic to confuse them.
In the cave, Santa remained calm. “Why are you doing this?” he asked gently.
“You make children happy, and we can’t stand it!” growled the Awgwas.
Santa smiled kindly. “But happiness is meant to be shared. Why not try it for yourselves?”
The Awgwas didn’t listen. They locked Santa in a cage and laughed about ruining Christmas.
The Rescue
Back at the North Pole, the elves and reindeer were worried. “Where’s Santa?” cried one of the elves. “It’s Christmas Eve! The children are waiting!”
Tingler, the head elf, quickly hatched a plan. “Let’s ask the forest fairies and the Frost King for help!” he said. The elves set out, gathering all the magical creatures who loved Santa. The fairies, Frost King, and even the wind spirits joined them to rescue Santa.
The magical team stormed the Awgwas’ cave. The Frost King blew icy winds to freeze the Awgwas in their tracks, and the fairies used their light to drive away the darkness. The Awgwas tried to fight back, but they were no match for Santa’s friends.
Christmas is Saved
The elves freed Santa just in time. “Thank you, my friends!” Santa said as he climbed back into his sleigh. The reindeer were ready, and with a hearty “Ho, ho, ho!” Santa flew off into the night, delivering presents to children around the world.
The Awgwas never tried to ruin Christmas again. They realized that no matter what they did, kindness and joy would always win. As for Santa, he never let the adventure dampen his spirit. He knew that Christmas was about more than toys—it was about spreading love and happiness.
The End.
