Once upon a time, in a lovely green valley, there was a goatherd who took great care of his three goats. Every day, he would feed them yummy grass and make sure they were cozy at night. The goats were very happy and always thanked the goatherd for his kindness.
One bright morning, while the goats were grazing, they met three wild goats. These wild goats looked cold and hungry. They shivered and their tummies grumbled. The winter was coming, and they had nowhere to go.
The kind goatherd’s goats invited the wild goats to come and stay with them. “Our goatherd is the best,” they said. “He’ll take care of you too.”
When the goatherd saw the wild goats, he was amazed by how beautiful they were. He wanted to help them and decided to give them extra special treats. He fed them the yummiest grass and made sure they were extra warm.
But, in doing so, the goatherd forgot to give his own goats enough food. The three goats became sad and hungry. They missed the goatherd’s attention and care.
Spring came, and the wild goats, now strong and healthy, decided to return to the hills. They thanked the goatherd but explained they loved their freedom too much to stay.
The goatherd felt sad and ran to his own goats to share the news, but they were gone too. They had left in search of someone who would care for them as before.
The goatherd sat down and began to cry. He realized he had made a big mistake. He wished he had treated his loyal goats better.
The storytellers shared the moral of the story: “It’s not wise to treat your old friends badly for the sake of new ones.” The goatherd learned that true kindness is treating everyone well, no matter how new or old they are.
And so, the valley learned an important lesson about kindness and care, thanks to the goatherd and the wild goats.
