The Frog Prince

Written by:

In a magical kingdom, there was a princess who loved nothing more than her beauty and her possessions. On her birthday, her father, the king, gave her a golden ball, the most beautiful toy she had ever seen.

“Oh, it’s perfect! Just like me,” the princess exclaimed, admiring the ball.

She played with it every day in the garden, but soon felt lonely. “If only I had someone to share this with,” she sighed.

Just then, a frog hopped by and offered, “I’ll play with you!”

The princess scoffed, “You? Play with me? Never! You’re too hideous.”

Undeterred, the frog simply said, “Well, it’s your loss. I’m a lot of fun.”

Time passed, and one day, while playing, the princess accidentally dropped her golden ball into the pond.

“My ball! It’s gone!” she cried, distraught at the loss of her precious toy.

Hearing her cries, the frog emerged from the pond, “Why are you crying, princess?”

“I’ve lost my golden ball,” she sobbed.

“I can get it for you, but you must promise to be my friend,” the frog proposed.

“Anything! I just want my ball back,” the princess hastily agreed.

After retrieving the ball, the frog reminded her, “Remember, you promised to let me eat with you and sleep by your side.”

“Fine, just give me my ball,” the princess agreed, thinking only of her toy.

But once she had her ball back, she ran to the castle, breaking her promise. That evening, the frog came knocking.

“Knock, knock,” the frog called.

“Who’s there?” asked the king.

“Your Majesty, I’ve come to remind the princess of her promise,” the frog stated, hopping into the dining room.

The princess was aghast, “I lied. I just wanted my ball back.”

“The princess must keep her promise,” the king decreed, teaching her the importance of her word.

Reluctantly, the princess let the frog dine with them, but when it came to sharing her bed, she lost her patience and threw the frog against the wall.

“Oh dear, what have I done? Please wake up. I’m sorry,” she cried, realizing the gravity of her actions.

With a gentle kiss, the frog transformed into a handsome prince, breaking the spell he was under.

“Thank you, princess, for breaking the spell,” the prince said.

The princess, regretful and changed, asked for forgiveness, promising never to judge by appearances again.

“I forgive you. Let’s not judge others by how they look,” the prince smiled.

And so, the princess learned to value friendship and kindness, living happily ever after with the prince, her true friend.
