On a sunny day in the barnyard, Chicken Licken was busily pecking at the ground, searching for corn. Suddenly, an acorn fell from a tree and bonked her right on the head. Startled, Chicken Licken was convinced the sky was falling and decided she must go and tell the king about this alarming discovery.
Along the way, Chicken Licken met her friends Cockey-Lockey, Ducky-Lucky, Goosey-Loosey, and Turkey-Lurkey. She shared her fears with each of them, and they all agreed to join her on her urgent mission to the king. Together, they formed a determined procession, each one eager to help share the important news.
Their journey took an unexpected turn when they encountered Foxy-Loxy. Sensing an opportunity, the cunning fox convinced them he knew a shortcut to the king’s palace. Trustingly, they followed Foxy-Loxy, not realizing the peril that awaited them.
One by one, Foxy-Loxy led Turkey-Lurkey, Goosey-Loosey, Ducky-Lucky, and Cockey-Lockey into his den, where he betrayed them. Chicken Licken, upon realizing the danger just in time, managed to escape and ran home as fast as her little legs could carry her.
Chicken Licken never did tell the king that the sky was falling, and her friends were never seen again. The barnyard learned a valuable lesson about caution and not jumping to conclusions based on fear. And as for Chicken Licken, she remained ever watchful of the sky above, but more importantly, of the friends and strangers on the ground.
