The Man and his Four Wives

Written by:

Once upon a time, there was an old man who had four wives. He loved them all, but in different ways. As he grew very sick and knew he was going to leave the world soon, he started to think about who would be with him when he left.

First, he asked his most beautiful wife if she would come with him after he died. She said no, kissed his forehead, and left. This made the old man very sad.

Then, he asked his second wife, who always helped him look good and rich. She also said no, telling him she would find someone new when he was gone. This made the old man even sadder.

His third wife was always his friend, helping him through tough times. But when he asked her to come with him after he died, she said she could only go with him to his grave but no further. This made the old man feel lonely.

Finally, he asked his fourth wife, who he hadn’t loved as much as the others. To his surprise, she said she would go with him wherever he went. The old man felt sorry he hadn’t been nicer to her.

In the end, the old man learned a big lesson. The first wife, like our body, can’t come with us after we die. The second wife, like our things and money, will be taken by others. The third wife, like our friends and family, can’t follow us all the way. But the fourth wife, our good deeds and how we’ve treated others, stays with us forever.

So, the story teaches us to care for and value what truly matters, like being kind and doing good things, because those are the things that will be with us always, even when we leave the world.
