The Mosquito and the Lion
In a sunny jungle, where the trees swayed in the breeze, there lived a mighty lion named Leo. He was strong and proud, and all the animals respected him. But one little creature, a tiny mosquito named Buzz, didn’t seem to care.
One day, Buzz saw Leo lounging under a tree. The lion’s golden mane gleamed in the sunlight as he yawned lazily.
“Look at him,” Buzz said to herself. “He thinks he’s the king of the jungle just because he’s big and strong. I bet I could show him a thing or two!”
Buzz flew up to Leo and buzzed right near his ear. “Hey, Leo!” she said in her tiny voice. “You think you’re so powerful, but I bet I could defeat you!”
Leo laughed. “You? A little mosquito? Don’t make me laugh. I could crush you with one swipe of my paw.”
“Let’s see about that!” Buzz replied, zipping toward Leo’s face.
Buzz darted and dodged, buzzing around Leo’s nose, ears, and mane. Leo tried to swat her with his big paws, but Buzz was too quick. She even landed on his nose and gave him a little nip!
“Ouch!” Leo roared, shaking his head. He batted at Buzz again, but she flew away, unharmed.
The lion growled in frustration. “Stop that, you annoying bug!”
Buzz giggled. “See? You may be big, but I’m faster and smarter. Who’s the king of the jungle now?”
Leo swiped one more time, but Buzz darted away. Feeling triumphant, she flew off, leaving the lion grumbling.
Buzz was so busy celebrating her victory that she didn’t watch where she was going. Suddenly, she flew straight into a spider’s web! The sticky strands trapped her, and no matter how much she wiggled, she couldn’t get free.
“Oh no!” Buzz cried. “I outsmarted the lion, but now I’m stuck in this web! What will I do?”
The spider, hearing Buzz’s cries, began to crawl toward her.
Buzz sighed. “I guess being small and clever isn’t enough if I’m not careful.”
Meanwhile, Leo stretched under the tree, licking his paw. “Let that be a lesson to her,” he muttered with a smile. “Even the smallest creatures need to watch out for their own weaknesses.”
