In a sunny village in southern India, there lived a merchant. Although wealthy, he always longed for more riches. “The wealthier you are, the more friends you have, even among enemies,” he often said.
One day, while counting his money, he had an idea. “I know! We’ll sell our wares in a faraway town. They’ll fetch a higher price there!”
He called his two servants and instructed them to load their wares onto a strong bullock. The bullock, burdened by the heavy load, protested, “This is too much for me.” But the merchant insisted, dreaming of his future wealth.
As they traveled, the hot sun blazed down, and the bullock, exhausted and overheated, collapsed. The merchant, eager to reach the town, left the bullock with his servants. “When he recovers, follow me,” he said.

The bullock, left alone, thought his end was near. “I have worked hard all my life. Let me rest here,” he sighed.
The servants, seeing the bullock’s plight, decided to leave him behind and catch up with their master.
Miraculously, the bullock didn’t die. He slept, drank from the nearby river, and feasted on lush grass. Gradually, he regained his strength and began exploring the forest.
But this was no ordinary forest; it was ruled by a fierce lion, the undisputed king. “I am the king! All animals must obey me,” roared the lion.
The animals of the forest, including a rabbit, an elephant, and a deer, bowed to their king. “Yes, master,” they chimed.
One day, the forest echoed with a strange sound. “Moo, moo! I’m free at last!” It was the bullock, joyously celebrating his newfound freedom.
Hearing this, the lion and his animal subjects were startled. “What mighty beast makes such a noise?” they wondered.
Two jackals, curious and brave, decided to investigate. They found the bullock and were amazed by his unfamiliar sound.
The animals, mistaking the bullock’s moos for the roars of a mighty beast, decided to make him their new king. “We must crown this new creature King of the Jungle,” they agreed.
So, the bullock, once a mere beast of burden, became the king of the forest. His life had taken an incredible turn.
The bullock, wearing his crown, mused, “Thank you, everyone. My life has changed so much.”
And thus, the story teaches us that life is full of surprises. Situations change, and nothing remains the same forever. The once weary bullock had become the beloved king of the jungle, a tale of unexpected fortune and newfound freedom.
