The Flea and the Athlete
Once upon a time, in a lively town, there was a famous Athlete named Alex. Alex was strong, fast, and loved by everyone. He could run faster than the wind, jump higher than the tallest fence, and lift the heaviest weights. Everyone in the town admired Alex and looked up to him.
One day, as Alex was getting ready for an important race, a tiny Flea named Freddie hopped onto his shoulder. Freddie was small but very proud of his own jumping abilities. He could jump great distances, even though he was just a tiny insect.
Freddie whispered into Alex’s ear, “Hey, Athlete! You may be strong and fast, but I bet you can’t jump as far as I can!”
Alex, surprised to hear a voice so small, looked around but couldn’t see anyone. “Who’s there?” he asked.
Freddie proudly hopped onto Alex’s hand and said, “It’s me, Freddie the Flea! I bet I can out-jump you any day!”
Alex laughed at the tiny Flea’s boldness. “You think you can out-jump me? But you’re so small!” Alex said, amused.
Freddie puffed up his tiny chest and replied, “Size doesn’t matter! It’s all about how high and far you can jump!”
Curious and amused, Alex decided to accept the Flea’s challenge. “Alright, Freddie, let’s have a jumping contest. If you can jump farther than I can, you’ll be the winner.”
Freddie agreed, and the contest began. First, Alex took a big leap, soaring through the air and landing far down the track. The crowd that had gathered around cheered loudly for Alex.
Then it was Freddie’s turn. The tiny Flea crouched low and sprang into the air with all his might. Despite his small size, Freddie jumped impressively far for a flea. Of course, it wasn’t nearly as far as Alex’s jump, but it was an extraordinary leap for someone so tiny.
Alex clapped and said, “Freddie, you may be small, but you have a big heart and lots of courage. You did an amazing job!”
Freddie beamed with pride. “Thank you, Alex! You may be the strongest and fastest, but I’ve shown that even someone small like me can do great things.”
The crowd cheered for both Alex and Freddie, admiring their sportsmanship and courage. From that day on, Alex and Freddie became good friends. They often told the story of their jumping contest, reminding everyone that size doesn’t determine greatness—courage and determination do.
