The Stork, Zeus, and the Ant
Once upon a time, in a peaceful meadow, there lived a wise and gentle Stork named Stella. Stella was known for her kindness and always helped the other animals whenever they needed it. She had long legs, a slender neck, and a sharp beak, perfect for catching fish in the nearby pond.
One day, as Stella was walking by the pond, she noticed a tiny Ant struggling to carry a heavy grain of wheat back to its nest. The grain was much larger than the Ant, and it looked like the Ant was about to give up.
Stella bent down and said, “Hello, little Ant. You look like you could use some help.”
The Ant, panting from exhaustion, replied, “Thank you, Stella, but this is my task. I must carry this grain back to my nest. It’s hard work, but I have to do it.”
Stella admired the Ant’s determination and offered, “Why don’t I carry the grain for you? It would be no trouble at all.”
But before the Ant could respond, a bright flash of lightning lit up the sky, followed by a rumble of thunder. The great god Zeus appeared in the clouds above, looking down at the Stork and the Ant.
“Stella the Stork,” Zeus said in a booming voice, “I have been watching you. You are kind and always willing to help others. Today, I will grant you one wish. Ask for anything you desire, and it shall be yours.”
Stella was surprised by Zeus’s offer. She thought for a moment, then looked at the tiny Ant and the grain of wheat.
“Zeus,” Stella began, “thank you for your generous offer. But instead of asking for something for myself, I wish for the Ant to be stronger, so it can carry its grain with ease.”
Zeus smiled at Stella’s selfless wish. “Stella, your kindness is truly remarkable. Because you wished for the good of others, I will grant you an additional gift. From this day forward, you will have the power to help all the creatures of the meadow whenever they are in need.”
With that, Zeus waved his hand, and a gentle golden light surrounded the Ant. Suddenly, the Ant felt a surge of strength. It lifted the grain of wheat with ease and began to carry it back to its nest with newfound energy.
The Ant looked up at Stella and said, “Thank you, Stella! With your wish, I can now carry my grain without any trouble. You are a true friend.”
Stella smiled warmly. “I’m glad I could help, little Ant. Remember, we’re all stronger when we look out for each other.”
From that day on, Stella used her new gift to help all the animals in the meadow, and the Ant continued to work hard, always grateful for the Stork’s kindness. As for Zeus, he watched over them with pride, knowing that the meadow was a better place because of the Stork’s selfless heart.
The End.
